Daly Dose 10-04-23 Our interview with sports orthopedic surgeon Dr. Matt Provencher

This week on the Daly Dose, we discuss another fun weekend in the world of college football and the NFL, and some of the surprises that took place, including the Denver Broncos finally getting their first win!

Then, we are joined by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr. Matthew Provencher! Dr. Provencher has worked with some of the most elite athletes in the world. He was the head team physician for the New England Patriots during their 2014 Super Bowl season and has served as a physician for the US Ski and Snowboard Team. He also serves as a 2nd opinion orthopaedist for the NFL, MLB, and the NHL. In addition to these positions, he also acted as an assistant team physician for the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins.

He was recently named as Chief Injury and Performance Analyst for FoxSports, where he and his team “the Predictors” provide injury and performance insights in the realm of professional and collegiate sports.  He continues his duties in the Navy as a Reservist and was most recently assigned to Navy Seal Team 17 in Coronado, CA.

We discuss the rate of NFL injuries on natural grass versus synthetic turf. Could New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers return this season? We also discuss what it was like working closely with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and some of the scariest injuries that he has seen in his amazing career!

This week on the Daly Dose, the NFL preseason kicked off last week and went about like we expected, except for one big surprise. 

The USWNT failed in spectacular fashion at the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia, the NCAA is seeing some massive realignment and the Pac 12 conference is a sinking ship. Plus, the NBA has seen some surprising free agent signings in the past few weeks.

This week on the Daly Dose, the NFL Hall of Fame game is tomorrow night in Canton, and we can’t help but notice that the Hall of Fame voters are making some off choices. We also make some predictions for the game.

The New York Mets have declared defeat as they traded Max Scherzer to the Texas Rangers and Justin Verlander back to the Houston Astros. 

The Indianapolis Colts got some very bad news, and the University of Colorado is headed back to the Big 12 Conference. Is that a good move for the future?

Then, we are previewing some of the biggest quarterback battles to watch in both the NFL and in College Football! There are some very serious quarterback controversies that are heating up!
