“This isn’t a circus.” Mayweather insists. Promises to ride unicycle and juggle during bout with McGregor

Citing numerous sports experts that have deemed his upcoming bout with mixed martial artist Connor McGregor a circus, boxer Floyd Mayweather went on the offensive Monday afternoon.

“This is a serious fight, and I am sick and tired of people saying that it is just a cash grab, with no real value.” Mayweather said.  “Connor McGregor is a champion fighter, with knockout power, and I have barely been training. I’ve been drinking and partying, and I have hardly even gone to the gym. So anything can happen.”

Tickets to the event that is being held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend are still available, and many believe that is why Mayweather is still doing his best to promote the fight. He has heard the talk that this fight is just a circus, and he disagrees.

“Yeah, I’ve heard that this fight is a circus.” Floyd retorted. “Just to prove how ridiculous that is, I have decided that I am going to ride a unicycle, and juggle oranges while fighting McGregor. It will not be easy, and there is a good chance that he knocks me out, but this is a legitimate fight. I want everyone to realize that this will be the crowning achievement for my fight record. This totally authentic championship fight will be an amazing finish to my amazing career.”

Andrew Luck’s shoulder announces it is not ready to play for the Colts yet

While the Indianapolis Colts are hoping that their starting quarterback Andrew Luck will be returning to action soon, there is someone very important that is not quite ready to play football just yet.

In January, Luck underwent surgery to repair a lingering issue in his throwing shoulder, and his status for the start of the season is still unknown. Yet, his right shoulder is more than a little nervous about rushing back to the field. Luck’s shoulder stated in an interview with the Daly Dose, that it is not looking forward to returning to the gridiron anytime soon.

“Are you crazy?” the shoulder asked. “Have you seen that offensive line? I am not ready to go out there, and get hit again, and again. I am 27 years old, and I am not ready to be replaced already. I have only been in this league for five years, and I have already been sacked over 150 times! I am pretty sure that the Colts are trying to kill Andrew. He might be too dumb to see it, but I’m not. I’ve had enough.”

On Sunday, without Luck in the lineup, the Colts offense struggled under backup quarterback Scott Tolzien. Indianapolis managed just 27 yards, in three drives, with Tolzien at the helm.

Colts management is hopeful that Luck will be returning prior to the start of the regular season, stating that his rehabilitation is going well, and his strength is better than ever.

Luck’s right shoulder disagrees. “I don’t care about lifting weights.” it stated. “That doesn’t mean a thing. You think I care about bench pressing when a defensive lineman lands on me? Nope. Ask Andrew’s spleen what lifting weights did for him. Get out of here with that nonsense.”

Local man draws upon middle school experience to help NFL coaching staff

A local man from Denver attended the Denver Broncos intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, and found himself in a position to aid his favorite NFL team.

57-year-old Don Wisniewski has been cheering for the Broncos since he was a boy, but during the practice session, he saw the offense struggling to get on track. Instead of getting frustrated, he kept his cool, and helped out the team.

“I know we have two young quarterbacks in Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch, and our defense features a very good pass rush.” Wisniewski stated in a post-scrimmage press conference. “I remembered from my playing days on the middle school football team, that sometimes a screen pass, or a draw play can slow down those edge rushers.”

Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy was going through his scrimmage game-plan when he heard Wisniewski’s suggestion from the sideline.

“We were having a tough time getting much continuity from our young quarterbacks, and we were seeing Cover 2 from the defense. So I was looking at a double slant, with a quick hitch on the backside, to get the ball out quickly.” McCoy revealed. “But when I heard Don’s suggestion from the crowd, it was like a godsend.”

McCoy quickly changed the play call to a screen pass, and Lynch connected with running back C.J. Anderson for an eight-yard gain, and a first down.

“I’m just glad I was able to recognize the problem, and offer a solution.” Wisniewski said. “Hopefully Coach McCoy has learned a valuable lesson today.”

Multiple NBA teams interested in Kyrie Irving despite having nothing of value to trade

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has formally requested a trade, and there are a number of NBA teams that are interested in attaining his services.

There is just one problem.

The more interested the suitor, the less assets they have to trade.

It was big news when word came out that Irving was tired of playing in the shadow of LeBron James, and that he was formally requesting a trade.

Trade scenarios were the subject of talk radio, and sports themed television everywhere. However, no move has been made, and we are starting to see why Irving still remains on the Cavaliers roster.

One of the leading contenders in the Irving sweepstakes has been the San Antonio Spurs. The Daly Dose was able to contact a spokesperson for the Spurs, and here is a portion of that conversation:

Daly Dose: “So, rumor has it that you are interested in possibly trading for Kyrie Irving.”

San Antonio Spurs: “We are definitely interested. Kyrie is a game changer, and a very explosive player.”

DD: “So what would you be willing to trade to get him to come to San Antonio.”

SAS: “What do you mean?”

DD: “Which players would you be willing to trade to get Kyrie?”

SAS: “Well, we don’t really have much to trade.  I suppose we could let them have Patty Mills. Or maybe some of Manu Ginobili’s old hair. “

DD: “So, how do you expect to get Kyrie Irving?”

SAS: “Well I don’t want to go into all of the details, but we are very interested in having Kyrie come play for us.”

DD: “Yes, I understand that, but I think they may want LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green.”

SAS: “Well, too bad for them. They will have to accept less.”

San Antonio was not the only team that seemed to have these sentiments.

The New York Knicks are offering a partially smoked marijuana cigarette left behind in Phil Jackson’s desk, and what’s left of Joakim Noah. The Minnesota Timberwolves are dangling Ricky Rubio… despite the fact that he is no longer on their roster. The Denver Nuggets would give the Cavs point guard Emmanuel Mudiay , and an old Dan Issel jersey.

New Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman spoke to the trade offers he has been receiving.

“Look, we realize that Kyrie would like to be moved, but the offers that we have been receiving just do not make any sense for us.” Altman stated. “In fact, some of them have been flat out ridiculous. This one that we just received from the Los Angeles Clippers is ludicrous. It just says that Austin Rivers will come wash my car, and do household chores for me. Okay, well actually that one isn’t bad. I’m going to hold on to that.”

Pitino, Louisville interested in Hugh Freeze as “director of prostitution”

Following his resignation from Ole Miss, football coach Hugh Freeze may not have to wait very long to find a new job.

Last week it was announced that Freeze had resigned from his position as head football coach at the University of Mississippi. It seems that school officials had found a number of phone calls to a number associated with an escort services. The encouraged “resignation” was mutual, and the university will not have to fulfill the remainder of Freeze’s contract.

The Rebels promoted assistant head coach Matt Luke the interim head coach effective immediately. Questions swirled following the departure of Freeze as many wondered if he would ever work in the collegiate ranks again. However, it seems that Freeze has already received some interest from another school, albeit an unlikely source.

The Daly Dose has learned that University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino has inquired as to whether Freeze might be interested in coming to the Bluegrass State.

In June, it was announced that several penalties would be brought against the Cardinals by the NCAA. Pitino is also due to serve a five-game suspension, because of sex-scandal allegations that a staff member provided basketball recruits with prostitutes and strippers. Louisville and Pitino plan to appeal the decision.

Pitino spoke to the Daly Dose and was very open about his interest in Freeze. “I realize that this is a sensitive subject, but I think it is safe to say that we have some similar interests as Coach Freeze, and we feel like he could definitely be an asset to our program.”

Does it concern Pitino that Freeze has no experience coaching basketball?

“Some things transcend sports.” Pitino answered. “I’m not looking to bring Hugh Freeze to the University of Louisville to coach a match-up press. This is a man that has a very special set of skills, and they are the type of skills that we can use here to improve our basketball program. We just want Coach Freeze to be Coach Freeze.”
