NCAA Power 5 conferences are pushing to get their players paid, but we aren’t sure this won’t lead to a host of future problems, and Notre Dame football makes a change that could be good news. Meanwhile, the NBA and MLB are trying to come up with a plan to restart  their seasons, but they need to get on the same page very soon. 

Then, we discuss some of the positives that so many of us are experiencing through this pandemic situation, and why we have a number of reasons to feel good about sports moving forward.

This week on the Daly Dose, we wish a happy National Waitstaff Day to all of those in the food industry, and remind everyone to be thankful to those working out in the public right now.

Then, we take a look at some sports news. The NBA is reopening slowly and the city of Los Angeles reminds us that everyone isn’t actually equal. We have a few stars in  Major League Baseball that are making the league look terrible to the average fan, South Korea has started to reopen their sporting events, but it has had some odd issues. The University of Kentucky has another sports scandal, and the NFL could have a major problem on their hands during this downtime.

Finally, with the Michael Jordan documentary The Last Dance wrapping up on Sunday, we sit down with longtime basketball coach Russ McKinstry to get his thought on the highly entertaining series, and on Michael Jordan’s incredible career! What was the base of Michael’s greatness, and why was Phil Jackson the perfect head coach for him? We discuss these questions and many more!

Then, we take a look at the newly released 2020 NFL schedule, and discuss some of the most interesting games that will be worth watching.

Daly Dose 05-06-20 Redrafting some historical NFL drafts

This week on the Daly Dose, a listener points out a spooky Dose prophecy from last fall, and the NFL is planning on releasing their 2020 schedule as usual. The Dallas Cowboys sign a backup quarterback, and it could bring some trouble, and a number of NFL teams are declining 5th year options. Do they have a plan going forward? We also reflect on the loss of NFL coach Don Shula, and the incredible legacy he left behind. 

A new installment of ESPN’s The Last Dance featuring Michael Jordan came out on Sunday night, and we share some memories from that era, and some thoughts about the newest episodes. The NBA has some difficult decisions to make regarding the 2020 NBA season, and we wonder which direction they will go.

Plus, with all of the financial losses in sports lately, we have some very good news for a specific sports business.

Then, we take a look back at some historic NFL drafts from the past, and wonder what would happen if we could have a do-over. There are a number of shake ups, and history will be rewritten, when we use our 20/20 hindsight to correct a few errors!

Daly Dose 04-01-20 Our 2020 March Sadness Brackets

This week on the Daly Dose, we are cancelling April Fool’s Day, and updating our quarantine status. Major League Baseball is willing to do almost anything to have a regular season, UFC fighter Jon Jones is in trouble again, and Tom Brady is going to give trademarking another try. The NFL says that the 2020 NFL Draft is going to take place, and we discuss why that is a good thing. 

Then, with March Madness being cancelled, we release our 2020 March Sadness brackets! We look at some of the saddest things in sports and pair them off for a tournament full of upsets! Which is more sad? The Houston Astros cheating scandal, or going to dinner with Rick Pitino? What about Lebron James’ hairline vs. Kevin Durant’s growing bald spot? Our March Sadness brackets will get to the saddest of the sad in sports!

Then, we look back at some of the saddest moments in March Madness, by counting down the Top 5 memorable sad moments from NCAA National Championship games!
