LeBron James to take on Michael Phelps in swim race on Mayweather vs. McGregor undercard

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Connor McGregor fight has taken some criticism for being a shameless money grab by many in the sports world. The formerly retired championship boxer Mayweather, will square off against the UFC lightweight champion Connor McGregor, on August 26th in Las Vegas.

Nevermind that McGregor has never fought a professional boxing match. Forget for a moment that Mayweather has only selected opponents that he knows are inferior. UFC president Dana White says that this will be a competitive fight, and he is in the process of booking an undercard that will be fitting.

It was announced on Monday, that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James will take on former Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps in a 100 meter freestyle swimming sprint prior to the big fight.

White answered critics that said this is turning into more of a circus than a legitimate boxing match. “This is not a circus. We are trying to put together the top contenders that we can find. Floyd and Connor are the top two contenders.” White stated. “Granted, Floyd is retired, and Connor plays a different sport, but they are still a very intriguing matchup. And this race between Lebron and Michael is going to be top notch as well. LeBron James is one of the top athletes in the world today. Are you really going to bet against him? And Michael Phelps is old. He’s super old. He smokes dope. I’m telling you. This is going to be a really close race. Who knows? LeBron is going to beat him. And then he just might swim in the next Olympics, and never return to basketball. Never say never.”

Is there any truth to the rumor that that is fight is just being rushed to take place to upstage the Gennady Golovkin vs. Canleo Alvarez fight that is scheduled for September 16th, and being promoted by Golden Boy promotions?

“That is absolutely false.” White told the Daly Dose. “We didn’t even pay attention to that. We simply wanted to get the top stars into the ring, and the pool as soon as possible. We didn’t even know there was another fight. We are simply trying to put together a quality card. A legitimate card. A card featuring some of the top performers that we can find. By the way, do you have Usain Bolt’s number? We were thinking he might want to have a skating race against Sidney Crosby!”

Cavaliers to sign Rihanna in hopes of bolstering bench

After two NBA Finals games, in which the Cleveland Cavaliers have been beaten by a combined score of 145 to 104 by the Golden State Warriors, management has decided to make a drastic move.

Cavaliers general manager David Griffin has announced that pop star Rihanna will be signed immediately to a 10 day contract. “We realize that this might seem unorthodox, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ” Griffin stated. “Rihanna has showed more passion than Kyle Korver, Channing Frye, and Deron Williams combined. At least she shows up for the games.”

The Barbadian singer, songwriter, and actress has never actually played organized basketball, but she doesn’t have huge shoes to fill. Through the first two games, Korver, Smith, and Williams have compiled a whopping 10 points combined.

“I think Rihanna can score five points per game.” Griffin said. “And if nothing else, she can distract the opposing players just by wearing a pair of basketball shorts on the floor. That would be more than any of these guys have done.”

Does Griffin worry that this lack of production from the Cavaliers bench could be an indictment of the quality in which he has done his job?

“I didn’t sign those guys.” Griffin insisted. “Those were Lebron’s guys, and he made the choice to sign them. I am just trying to correct his mistakes.”
