Bills shutout Patriots after Belichick starts mannequin at quarterback

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has proven that he is capable of coaching up less experienced quarterbacks.

But even he couldn’t overcome the limitations of his latest starter.

With starting quarterback Tom Brady serving the final game of his four game suspension, Belichick has found ways to win with backups Jimmy Garappalo and Jacoby Brissett.

But with Garappalo suffering from a shoulder injury, and Brissett nursing a sore thumb, Belichick decided to start a quarterback that got everyone’s attention.

Belichick started a plastic mannequin at quarterback on Sunday, against the Buffalo Bills, and it proved to be too much for the Patriots to overcome.

The Patriots were shutout 16-0 at home as they were held to just 277 total yards.

The mannequin did manage to throw for 187 yards and even converted a third down, but Bills defenders eventually caught on to the fact that the piece of plastic could not actually hurt them down field.

“We tried to get “Manny” ready, but obviously he has some limitations.” said Belichick after the game. “We are ready for Tom to come back, and we are moving on to Cleveland.”

On the other side of the field, it only took Bills coach a few quarters to realize something was different.

“I’m not sure who that guy was.” Ryan bellowed after the game. “But I think we proved that we can play with anyone today and that I am just as good of a coach as Bill Belichick.”

“If they start that same quarterback the next time we see them, I am pretty confident that I can come up with a game plan to stop him. He looked very stiff back there.”
