The Alabama Crimson Tide found a way to outlast the No. 1 Clemson Tigers last night in the College Football National Championship game 45-40 in Glendale Arizona.
And while dedicated Tide fans are basking in the glory of their fourth title in seven years they also found themselves enjoying the play of Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
Renfrow was electric on Monday night catching seven passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
“I’ll tell you what.” said longtime Bama fan Cleetus Crenshaw “that boy can play on my team any time. I ain’t quite sure what it is about him…he seems like a coaches kid or somethin. But boy he is just as gritty and gutty a player as I seen this year. Roll Tide!”
“He may not be that fast or athletic.” Crenshaw went on despite the fact that Renfrow runs a 4.55 40 yard dash. “But he just seems smarter than those other boys out there. He just one of those lunch bucket types that works harder than everyone else. I really do like him. Roll Tide!”
What about Bama tight end OJ Howard who caught five passes of his own for 208 yards and two touchdowns?
“Well yeah, I like him too cause he’s wearing the Crimson, but it’s a little different because he’s just so athletic and natuarally gifted. Roll Tide!”
This seems to be yet another southern mystery that may never be solved.
