Following their 111-99 loss to the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of their playoff series, the Dallas Mavericks were surprised to find point guard Rajon Rondo asleep on the floor of the locker room.
“He was frustrated with me after I put him in time out.” said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle. “He became very agitated and was not using his words. He was screaming and kicking his feet and pounding on the floor with his fists. He just wore himself out.”
Rondo has struggled in Dallas since being traded from Boston in December. It has been speculated after the loss to the Rockets that he will not play again for the Mavericks both due to a back injury and also for calling Rick Carlisle a “poopy head”.
“He was very peaceful when I found him.” Carlisle continued. “Fast sleep, and sucking his thumb with tear stained cheeks. I just carried him to bed, and got him his blankie. I’m sure he will be a different guy when he wakes up.”
The Mavericks face the Rockets in Game 3 tonight in Dallas.
